Mark
Zuckerberg has faced a rough road since Facebook went public in May. The stock
of the social networking company has performed poorly, falling below $20 in
August after debuting at $38. In July the company reported a net loss of $157
million for its second quarter but a jump in revenues to $1.18 billion. That
news drove the stock price down. The Facebook founder's net worth fell by $8.1
billion --more
than anyone else on The Forbes 400 --since a year ago, though his $9.4 billion
fortune is still quite impressive. The drop isn't likely to change the
hoodie-wearing CEO's lifestyle much. What's less clear: whether the young
executive, who married his longtime girlfriend Priscilla Chan the day after the
IPO and headed off for an Italian honeymoon, can right the ship and make
Facebook into a winning public company. On the philanthropy front, In
Zuckerberg surprised many by pledging on the Oprah Winfrey Show in September
2010 that he would donate $100 million to Newark, New Jersey schools. Since
then, he's created his own foundation, Startup: Education, which will give
money to Newark schools on a matching donation basis. As of August, Startup:
Education had given $15 million to Newark. Zuckerberg is also a signee of Bill
Gates' and Warren Buffett's Giving Pledge, committing to give away more than
half his wealth to charities while he's alive or after he dies.

BARACK Obama is back in the White House after winning the 2012 US presidential election.
America’s first black
leader beat Mitt Romney in the closely fought battle tonight to secure another
four years as the most powerful man in the world.
As US TV networks
reported he had won, Obama tweeted: "This happened because of you. Thank
you."
He then tweeted:
"Four more years."
Early indications
suggested a long drawn-out election after tight exit polls in the swing states
of Ohio and Virginia.
But the momentum started
to swing in the early hours to Obama as he took Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
That meant Romney's only
way to the Oval office was to take the crucial states of Ohio, Virginia and
Florida to get over the target of 270 electoral college votes.
But Obama picked up the
vital state of Ohio according to projections to end Romney’s bid to be the first
Mormon to lead the States.
During the night the
president's campaign made sure people did not leave voting queues early, urging
its supporters on Twitter to #stayinline.
Earlier Obama and Romney
had each grabbed early wins in states traditionally loyal to their parties.
Using exit polls, US
television networks projected victories for Republican Romney in Alabama,
Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee
and West Virginia.
Democrat incumbent Obama
has picked up Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois,Maryland, Massachusetts, New
Jersey, Rhode Island, and Vermont - all states in which he was favourite.
